Notice to Families and Friends of Sunny Acres and Legacy Care May 29, 2020
From the start of this crisis, Sunny Acres and Legacy Care Assisted Living have been following Mass. State Dept. of Health and Centers of Disease control guidelines to implement a Covid -19 response plan that will protect our residents and staff. This center stopped all visitation except for medical providers and staff on March 2, 2020 which was prior to the State of Emergency mandate that was issued on March 12, 2020. Sunny Acres has been taking extraordinary measures to keep this rapidly spreading virus out of the center and manage the spread of Covid-19. We created several isolation zones and safe zones in the center and have coordinated staffing assignments per zone. Our top priority is the safety and well being of our residents and the dedicated staff who are making the major personal sacrifice to provide compassionate care and service during this unprecedented national crisis. Sunny Acres has been very pro-active in the process of testing residents and staff, since the beginning of April, Sunny Acres has now conducted over 500 Covid-19 tests, which included all residents and all staff. On May 21, 2020 we completed another round of baseline testing which resulted in No Positive Resident Cases. Sunny Acre has had a total of 17 resident positive cases and 15 staff cases. As of this memo - Sunny Acres has no active Covid cases, and one staff-who tested positive and is out of work. I am pleased to report Sunny Acres is now in a recovery period. Sunny Acres is in full adherence to the State Infection Control Program. We are hopeful that we will continue to have no positive cases over the weeks ahead, but per CDC guidelines the center will continue to have isolation zones throughout the center and staff will continue to follow infection control protocols with proper PPE protection. We are hopeful that in the next few weeks we will receive a plan from the State regarding family visitations. We will allow window visits as long as families follow the protocols of remaining 6 ft. from the window and wearing your masks. Face time, skpe and conference calls are available please contact Judy Saba ADC to coordinate your scheduled visits.
